Rose Hill Associated Artist Lee Westwood is a musical polymath, shape-shifter and tour-de-force. From virtuosic finger-style solo guitar to recording and touring in Hip-Hop and polyrhythmic rock bands, through contemporary chamber music to geometric multi-media exhibitions and no-input effects-pedal noise systems… Lee Westwood’s music evolves! His sound works have been exhibited at MOMA NYC, Saatchi Gallery London, Magnum Paris and Athr gallery Dubai to name a few, and he co-writes music for film and TV as Nimzo Studio.
Rose Hill Records is proud to release Florilegium, a limited edition (100) double vinyl of a selection of his finest early fingerstyle guitar and chamber works from across the first decade of his career (2006-2016).
Featuring music from 3 albums – To Sleep (2006), Nymph Suite & Other Stories (2008), Dragon (2009) – and 3 EPs of chamber music (Miniatures EP, The Visitor EP, Vignettes EP – 2016), this 90 minute musical odyssey carves out a journey through sublime fingerstyle guitar, haunting works for solo piano, piquante duets for flute and oboe, luscious strings, improvisations and chamber ensemble arrangements of Hungarian folk lullabies. Alongside this release we have digitally re-issued all of his back catalogue to bring them into the world of digital listening.
This beautiful limited edition double LP includes an insert poster with imagery by Hannah Moule from The Moulettes.
Florilegium is a virtuosic collection of some of the best works for acoustic guitar and small acoustic ensembles.
