We aim to promote adventurous music and performance, whilst providing a flexible community space.
If you think your proposal fits, then we want to hear from you! We are also looking for people who would be interested in using the space to run workshops, rehearsals, recording, and other creative uses, including daytimes. We will look at your proposal with our programming team and get back to you ASAP!

Private Hire

Are you looking for a unique venue in central Brighton to host a bespoke event?
Hire out your own private utopia here at The Rose Hill! We offer the whole place to yourself to do with what you please, including an optional full-service bar and a lovely lil’ garden, making us perfect for anything from celebrations (birthdays, weddings, etc), to company away-days, to community events, workshops, film screenings and anything else you can think of.
DIY Deal
- Doors are at 7pm for evening events unless agreed otherwise
- Our capacity is 100 when all standing, 60 when all seated, and 40 for film screenings
- We charge and keep a booking fee on paid tickets sold via our in-house ticketing platform. We don’t take any commission on tickets sold on other platforms and you keep all the door money.
- You provide someone for the door OR we can for £37.50
- You cover £150 for sound person (it has to be our person)
- We provide a full sound system
- Backline hire:
- Bass Amp: £10
- Guitar Amp: £10
- Drum Kit minus breakables: £10
- Snare, HiHats, Crash, Splash, Ride: £5 each
- DJ Cartridges: £10
- Load-in and soundcheck is 5-7pm for evening events (if you need more time, it’s £30 per hour)
- Live music curfew is at 10:30pm (DJs fine till last orders)
- We have a noise limit of 95 dBa due to neighbours!
- There is a lovely green room available on request
- We provide at least 1 complimentary drink for each artist playing
- If you would like to use a card machine to take payments on the door, please bring your own. We do have one available to use, on request, but there is a £10 service charge for managing and sorting transfers etc
- In certain circumstances we can provide accommodation *

We will help promote your show by: Listing your event on our website, sharing your event to our mailing list, on social media and on our printed monthly listings flyer, printing posters (design provided by you) for inside and outside The Rose Hill and laminate one for our poster archive, send you a promo support email with event links which you can share with all performing artists.
We expect you to: Fill out our event submission form for us to get it on our website, create at least 1 collab post on Instagram which we will accept and share to stories, create a Facebook event page (if you use FB or we will do that for you), design a poster, actively promote the show and stay in touch about how tickets are selling (if sold externally) so we can work as a team to make the show a success!
Cancellation fee: We are a small grassroots venue which means we cannot afford to take the hit entirely for cancelled events. The fees below help contribute to these costs so we can keep our doors open!
If you cancel an event with less than 30 days notice you will have to pay a cancellation fee of £180 (£150 for film screenings). If cancellation is made within 14 days of the event then a cancellation fee of £320 (£200 for film screenings) applies.
These fees cover our sound person and are a contribution towards bar staff and lost venue income. Thanks for your understanding.
In-house Promotions
An in-house promotion means that WE are the promoters and do heavy lifting in getting people to your show. We offer a guaranteed fee which can includes accommodation and hospitality at the venue. As the promoters we are responsible for creating bespoke promotional assets for your show.
