A Celebration of Monsters, Music & Mutations

The first event of its kind – we are delighted to host this evening of eclectic DJ’s, dancing, live music, dress up, art and visuals hosted by our friends who are also responsible for the first toy hacking that we ever saw and the brilliant art/music/tech workshops under the name ‘Exploring senses’ PLUS the launch is on this special Hallowed night!

Think kaiju, sofubi, mutant disco, impossible records and creatures built after midnight.

Monster Mash 100 is a new gathering from Dark But Playful —a collision of underground music, monster culture, DIY art, lowbrow illustration, vintage horror and beautifully strange ideas.

Inspired by kaiju eiga, sofubi, yōkai folklore, tokusatsu cinema, pulp graphics, outsider comics and hand-built worlds, Monster Mash 100 transforms The Rose Hill into a temporary home for monsters, music lovers and curious minds.

Expect an unpredictable soundtrack moving freely through electro, acid, italo, cosmic disco, boogie, psychedelic oddities, post-punk, new beat, synth-pop, mutant pop, leftfield electronics, obscure grooves, bizarre edits, forgotten dance music and beautifully unclassifiable records.

💥 No algorithms 💥 No genre boundaries 💥 No predictable journey.

Just records with character, selected by people who love them.

Dress to Possess

Forget shop-bought costumes!! Become a kaiju, yōkai, mutant, cryptid, alien, rogue robot or an entirely new species of your own invention. Handmade, recycled and gloriously original creations are encouraged.

The stranger the mutation…
The better.
