Maf’j Alvarez is a Digital media artist and creative technologist living in Brighton, UK, working with ecology, mind, cultural, and gender diversity around open access to technology. She also works as a user experience designer, developing complex, large-scale digital transformation projects for government services. She worked sporadically for half a year at The Rose Hill in collaboration with creative director and artist Kassia Zermon, aka Bunty, to create a new multiplayer sonic VR experience using Maf’J’s vocal looping application ‘Audilicious’ which was prototyped at various Rose Hill events in between the live music. She also held a series of international hacking sessions to develop the prototype further. Maf’ J is the founder of of Inkibit immersive a Female-led creative collective who use immersive tech to help underrepresented groups tell stories from the messy edge. They describe their approach as lo-fi punk VR working fast and messily, taking risks and failing joyfully.
