Who came to the epic pre-launch fundraiser show last year ? It was a stonker sold out show and helped to raise the funds needed to make this release possible!
Rose Hill Records proudly presents the launch of Lee Westwood’s limited edition double vinyl ‘Florilegium’. Come to the launch party featuring Lee’s latest work - a world premier of a suite for violin, lights & electronics + a live performance from his no -input groove /noise duo Noise Peddler.
We are flying Swiss-Canadian violin virtuoso Miranda Nee over from Switzerland to perform the UK premiere of a new suite of contemporary works for violin, commissioned by The Claypot Ensemble, including works by Lee Westwood, Thaddeus Cochrane & Alberto Mastracci.
Lee’s piece is for Violin, electronics and lights, performed in a blackout environment and moves between moments of sublime ambient beauty and glitched out chaos. Thaddeus’s piece is a long-form meditation on a three note motif, explored from varying perspectives, and Alberto’s piece is a short journey through a subtle world of microtonal counterpoint and delicious textures for solo violin.
This is the only UK date of the European tour for this suite of works, with the world premiere being performed at Insbruck the preceding week.
Noise Peddler are fresh from recording their debut album at Brighton’s Salvation Studios, this will be their first performance of the year featuring a free-improvisational exploration of the No-Input-Pedalboard, where two performers explore the limits of what can be achieved with banks of effects pedals. Can you create full songs with verse-chorus structures?! Can you do a cover? Can you create rhythmic complexity and fluid beats?! Expect a juxtaposition of heavy grooves and melodic improv against walls of noise and evolving bleeps and bloops…!!
