This playlist is from one of our favourite Brighton promoters the mighty Dictionary Pudding. They have been responsible for some of our finest shows here including Ian Svenoneous, Kuunatic, Leafcutter John to name a few, and the ones who have brought bands like Sun Ra Arkestra and the Necks to the south coast. A Fresh selection of provocative electronic dance music from DJ duo Sista Selecta. Sister Selecta is a Brighton based collective founded by two best friends Yes Mel and I am Fya in 2017. They host regular events and put on some really special all dayers here at the Rose Hill around this time last year. Fun fuelled live music, games , home cooked food and tunes. They host a monthly show on Underground specialist radio station 1BTN.
We ALSO have an exceptional mix from Lost Property Art collective. Genre and gravity defying sounds that take you on a journey Make sure you keep an eye on Lost Property’s events and projects, they are one of the most important collectives dedicated to making experimental stuff happen in the South.
Guest playlist comes from Afrofuturist Nelson Navarro. From his debut EP launch here in 2016 to his monthly ongoing talent showcase ‘Kustom Vibes’, Nelson is putting in work for the free thinkers of Brighton. Nelson (born Elijah Pailthorpe-Peart) has been telling stories with music since a young’n and aswell as his event promotion skills is an artist, producer, rapper & DJ using music to share his message of self empowerment far and wide. We tapped him up for his curatorial prowess to transmit a stellar set of songs for this month’s newsletter. When asked about what inspired his selections, he told us: “I like to think of myself cruising through the aether with melodies and basslines orbiting around my head - the songs I’ve selected for this playlist are a smattering of what I’m playing in my imaginary spaceship.” Follow him on Spotify to find out about his forthcoming single, out on 21st November! Here is Euphonic Rhythms. They have curated TWO 'Deep Dive' playlists for us this month! Strict directions are to play them in SHUFFLE MODE. 9 hours of VIBE.
