To create afresh often requires the destruction of the old, and this programme includes unusual short films depicting demolition and dismantling, and new forms and structures taking shape. Ranging from crashed cars and demolished buildings, to improvised musical creation and discarded film footage turned into exciting new works, Synch Pulse will send a wrecking ball smashing through the outer reaches of experimental film.

Synch Pulse is a monthly film night held at the Rose Hill in Brighton, compiled and presented by artist, electronic music composer and filmmaker Ian Helliwell. It features a different theme for each programme represented by archive and contemporary shorts, including artists’ film and video, animations, vintage adverts and trailers, public information films, and unusual documentaries. With a strong emphasis on electronic and experimental music soundtracks, Synch Pulse is designed as a free entry gathering for the uninitiated, as well as devotees of underground movies and alternative sounds.
