Synch Pulse: Analogue Synthesizers

Date: Wed 18th February 2026
Time: 7pm – 11pm

Location: The Rose Hill

The sound, tactility, and overall design aesthetic of analogue synthesizers makes them fascinating to play and engage with. This Synch Pulse delves into the archives for unusual shorts and offbeat documentaries to present a flavour of the sights and sounds of classic synthesizers – some very familiar, others obscure one-offs – but all with the capability of generating weird and wonderful electronic sounds. Following the first half of the film programme, there will be a live demonstration of a unique self-built analogue synthesizer.

Synch Pulse is a monthly free entry experimental film night featuring a different theme for each programme, represented by archive and contemporary shorts, animations, documentaries, vintage adverts and trailers, and public information films. With a strong emphasis on electronic music and experimental soundtracks, the evenings are compiled and presented by artist, musician and filmmaker Ian Helliwell.
