Nuke Watch is a New York based collective that specializes in a blend of free-jazz fusion and textured polyrhythmic Fourth World propulsion. The long running friendship and psychic connection of its founders Chris Hontos & Aaron Anderson (aka Beat Detectives) enhance their signature ritualistic rhythms, mutant modular synthesis, nimble keyboard runs, vibrant sampling and unidentified skronk.
“The duo of Aaron Anderson & Chris Hontos sustain a remarkable run of releases since 2020 that has run rings around the DIY underground imagination, variously proving their mettle in live and studio settings, and neatly distilling the psychedelia of previous, cult project Beat Detectives in fluidly groove-driven modes that effortlessly enchant heads and snag hips.“
– Boomkat, 2024.
[Nuke Watch] could be called world music in the sense that if you folded up the world into a funnel and shook it and made everybody slide down onto a plate full of people they didn’t grow up with, they might end up making this.
– Sasha Frere-Jones, 2025
“This was a good one…NUKE WATCH LP from Impatience”
– Eye (Boredoms), 2024.
They have released records on The Trilogy Tapes, Post Present Medium, Patience/Impatience, Commend/ RVNG and Moon Glyph.
They will be touring in support of their new album “Fusion” out this summer on the London based label Sagome.
“Frazzled synth virtuosity, textured sampledelia and mulched electronics take porous influence from all corners, from gamelan to Raï, Saharan strings, and Japanese classical court music, but lysergically morphed into a properly absorbing, if elusive, sort of instrumental storytelling”
– Boomkat, 2022.
