Anton Pearson is a UK-based guitarist and member of UK future rock icons Squid. We are delighted to be hosting his debut album launch “Driving Through Belgium‘ which comes out this week on World Of Echo Records. The Record is a beautiful ambient album filled with emotion and wonder and we can’t wait to hear it live!
His solo work explores texture, space and repetition, composed through sound rather than notation. His debut album Driving Through Belgium was written during long drives on tour, capturing the feeling where the familiar becomes strange.
On lead single “Tintinnabulation I,” he described wanting the piece to sit somewhere between disorientation and hope, built around a high-frequency sound made from synths run through a Whammy pedal. Clash Magazine

Support from Furrowed x Cederick Knox (piano and a live-cut records)
Furrowed and Knox reunite for a collaboration first performed at the Attenborough Centre last year, combining improvised piano with live record-cutting.
Furrowed (Dylan Beattie) is a sound artist and producer making weird records and circuit-bending record cutting tools into musical instruments. Often starting with a blank disc, sound is inscribed live as evolving record grooves are performed by multiple pickups. As part of his unique approach, using a handheld device, he ‘tattoos’ sound directly to surfaces creating unexpected sonic outcomes involving locked grooves and sound fragments. His sonic palette ranges from electronic and melodic tones, environmental sounds, to hypnotic and cross-rhythms, analogue surface glitches and other process artefacts. Expect lo-fi looping, clicks, pops and crunch as records are made, celebrated and destroyed.
Cederick Knox is the project of Jason Hazael, sometimes solo, often with collaborators. Offerings have included studio recordings of a semi-fictional jazz band, found-footage VHS mashup AV performances, free improv and recently, music for short film.
