Thursday 18th May | 7pm | £6 ADVANCE TICKETS

Borges Machado are Brighton based experimental Brazilian duo that work with improvisation, field recordings and much much more. Borges Machado is André Borges (saxophone, flute, handmade wind instruments, found objects, internal body sounds and percussion) and Fernando Machado (guitar, cavaquinho, percussion, body and pedal effects). Their interdisciplinary performances weave together visual art, movement and music to create a unique sensory experience.

Their debut album - Building Sites - is 3 sound art pieces inspired by Brightonian urban soundscapes, released in June 2020. They describe their music as “field recordings of everyday urban sound realities that are often perceived as noisy, disruptive or unwanted, yet have an influence on people’s moods. Such sounds are shifted into music material, becoming more acceptable and welcomed as they interact with the live musical elements during a performance”
