Smugglers who are an excellent record shop, label and music festival present:

The recursive adventures of Dubi, a '50's sodajerk hurtled unwittingly into space and the often cruel doowop scene of Rygar 16. Join him for some mellifluous memoirs and mild peril.

Plus support from Freddie J Watts.

DUBI DOLCZEK

A fine scholar and intrepid adventurer in his day, Dubi Dolczek whisks us off once more to Rygar 16 to have another go at those elusive memoirs. Probably aided by the consummate musicianship of a Dubi Dolczek Band, expect an intimately casual approach to balladeering with lashings of absurdity and dream logic as he attempts to free himself from the spell of a mysterious Bug Wizard.

"The Dubi Dolczek Band... Never has a more villainous hive of bountyhunters, crooners and renegades owed so little by so few"- Alec Guinness

"So intimate that it was like he'd taken himself out to lunch and then just drifted off.... I wasn't sure whether to sit down and take my boots off too. Let's just say I was late for the matmos..."- Jane Fonda

FREDDIE J WATTS

Born out of a love affair with the sounds of the mid-West, Freddie J Watts is here to lasso your ears with dark crooning vocals, that are equal parts whiskey and honey. His lyrics are true to his own sentimentalism, romance and tongue-in-cheek humour – with a sly reminder to not take life too seriously. Having toured and performed with the likes of Wax Machine and (more recently) Rokurokubi, Freddie J Watts conjures something distinctly his own with his marriage of British Psychedelia and American Folk.
