Join us for the official release of R.Dyer’s debut album ‘Little Victories’ - a celebration of the mundane and ordinary via intricate live loops, mesmerising harmonies and emergency nose flute. Described as ‘heartfelt magic’ (Brighton Source) and ‘either total crap or absolute genius’ (drunken audience member), Dyer combines the chaotic and sublime in equal measure, teetering between soundscape, story and utter disaster.
Support from the excellent YOU&TH, combining medieval Neapolitan folk and found, wrapped in gauzy swathes of soothing violin.
Brighton local R.Dyer combines anything from found sounds, synth, musical saw, saxophone, nose-flute, folk harp, household objects, and light up shoelaces to create looped performances which move from baroque-pop to mesmerising soundscapes via acapella lullabies and stories about dogs in trainers. Since 2018, they’ve supported Sarah Angliss, Porridge Radio, Ana da Silva & PHEW!, Alabaster dePlume, Haiku Salut and Richard Dawson. In 2021 they were one of three early career artists to be awarded an Emergent Commission by Drake music in 2021 and this album was made possible by funding from Help Musicians UK.
