Moulettes and Friends

  • The Rose Hill 70 Rose Hill Terrace Brighton, England, BN1 4JL United Kingdom (map)

Tuesday 1st August | 7pm | £12/£8 advance Tickets

Those who were at the inaugural residency at The Rose Hill in November 2021 (with 23 musicians playing in different combinations!) will remember the magic & spontaneity of this creative collision - a sprawling and deeply imaginative reminder of how vital and revitalising ambitious art can be!!

In the background The Rose Hill team have been working with a number of other like minded grassroots arts-hubs across the country to create a touring and residency network. Artists we host for residencies will have opportunities to gig and/or continue their work through further residencies with the partner venues and the same vice versa. Moulettes have been instrumental (sorry) in helping this network take shape, and this concert is the first pilot run - Moulettes will go on from The Rose Hill to be in residence in Somerset and then Cornwall, developing their multi-ensemble show towards a climax at Smugglers Festival in Kent (where all 5 moulettes ensembles will be performing!)

This first show will take place at The Rose Hill where Moulettes & their wider circle of collaborators will play music from  Xenolalia  & improvised new music in the spirit of this project - communication, human communion, cross pollination , familiar songs reimagined. Expect virtuosic playing, massive prog-folk riffs, lush strings, part harmony vocals and a wild sense of fun and adventure!!
