Nigerian ambient musician and violist Ibukun Sunday binds ambient and West African musics with field recordings from his native Lagos and a deeply philosophical spirituality.
Though the fuzzed-out elegance of his music can be compared to the work of Lawrence English, William Basinski or Tim Hecker, Ibukun’s core culture shines through in a pure and singular way. Already a favourite of Mary Anne Hobbs, his new album "Mantra" is released on Phantom Limb in January 2023.
For Support we have Johanna Bramli - electronic musician, sound artist, composer and performer who works with textures, noise, sonic spaces, and audience interaction. She is one half of electronic/motorik/pop band Fröst www.frostband.co.uk, and also the founder of all-female noise/feedback improv choir The Larsens.
Second support is from new Brighton outfit Roadkill On The Information Superhighway!
