WEDNESDAY 22ND January | 7pm | FREE ENTRY
To celebrate the publication of his new book "Peter Brotzmann: Free-Jazz, Revolution and the Politics of Improvisation," Daniel Spicer presents an evening devoted to the late tenor saxophone titan and hero of European free-jazz. Spicer will read from his book and show archival films of Brotzmann in action. The second half of the evening will be devoted to live free-jazz in the spirit of Brotzmann, performed by some of Brighton's top improvisers.
"This is essential reading to understand the world of resistance, dedication and the no-compromise attitude that illustrates who Brotzmann really was. It's the perfect introduction as well as an in-depth portrait of one of the true innovators of free music!" - Mats Gustafsson
