Our Associated Artist programme continues with sound artist Johanna Bramli , culminating in a very special online performance at the end of the month.
Johanna Bramli is a sound artist working with found sound, manipulated vocals and granular synthesis. She creates sensitive yet assaulting textures she performs in cinematic settings. In her upcoming residency at the Rose Hill, she will reconnect with contemporary dance - her first artistic love - by collaborating with choreographer Gil Kerer and dance producer Anat Cederbaum (both based in Tel Aviv). They will explore themes of isolation, identity politics, ageing bodies and the simple act of really listening at a time of global crises.
Johanna will also explore ways of unifying and making sense of her different outputs (her band Fröst, her teaching and research practice, the experimental noise choir she runs, her sound art works, solo project...) into one umbrella - for our identities can be pluralistic.
