Composed of Ex-Members of The Dears and Final Flash and the organiser of the One Man Band Festival, the band’s 5th release (Go-Getters), recorded/mastered by Dave Draves/Jett Galindo (Kathleen Edwards/Neil Young) was released this August on Sugar Gator (Fast Romantics). “Ready to Go” is a high-energy intersection of Bowie and T-Rex, while closer “Go-Getters” bounces effortlessly from Harrison to Lightfoot to Pavement in a single measure. At times grungy, the E.L.O vs. 90’s vibe is raw and unapologetic.
In late 2017, with FACTOR’s assistance JCEX toured Canada playing Pop-Montreal, Ponderosa (with Wolf Parade, Austra) (with Moulettes) as their album charted Canada-wide, garnering great press. Previously, they also toured worldwide supporting bands like Oneida, Rich Aucoin, Justin Ruthledge, Dropkick Murphys, Moulettes, Elephant Stone, Geoff Berner etc., performing at NXNE, CMW, SXSW, Mtl-Jazz, Oliofest & Iceland Airwaves.
