Cal Folger Day is an American songwriter now based in Dublin. Her verbatim pop-opera The Woods &Grandma was awarded the Little Gem award at the 2017 Dublin Fringe.

She's written a far out opera loosely based on a 2002 RTE 1 radio programme featuring Lady Gregory’s two granddaughters discussing their lives and their ancestral home, Coole Park in Gort, Co. Galway. Other influences are Anna Deavere Smith’s seminal verbatim play Fires in the Mirror and Cecil Sharp’s 1919 folksong collection for her score.
