Residency #1: Takeover 

1 building, 6 days, 20 artists. The Beatabet artists who run The Rose Hill have invited a multi-disciplinary cohort of artists to work in residence for 6 days. Some artists and musicians are our old time collaborators, some are totally new who have come through and performed at the Rose Hill since we opened 2.5 years ago. Experimentation and collaboration is at the heart of the residency. The week will end with a building takeover - expect dancers, musicians, makers, performers, hackers and VJ's.

12 years ago Beatabet was formed out of a series of lengthly residencies in France. Up to 18 artists lived and worked together at any one time; each residency lasted between 3 and 6 months with individual artists staying for a week, a month or however long they could make. It was an extraordinary experience for all involved. In the warm spirit of encouragement, creativity and experimentation huge amounts of new work was produced and out of these sessions came many new collaborations and ensembles, some of which are still going today.

To reimagine these residencies for The Rose Hill has always been a core part of our vision for the place and so it is with great pleasure that we invite you to Residency #1: The Rose Hill Takeover! EXCITINGGGGGGG!!

We will extend our licence for the evening, so will be serving until 12 woo.
